Best season on Superstar channel
Telekom Srbija company marks beginning of new TV season
In the presence of a large number of actors and producers, the Telekom Srbija company ceremoniously presented the new television scheme of the Superstar channel. Once again this autumn, the company has prepared a great and diverse content that pushes the boundaries of television formats in the country and the region.
With the desire to fulfil the high expectations of the audience from the upcoming television season, the company has prepared an outstanding content accompanied by an exceptional cast of actors. At the presentation of the Superstar channel programming scheme, we could learn more about its current and forthcoming achievements from the famous actors – Tamara Krcunović, Zlatan Vidović, Nevena Nerandžić and Mladen Sovilj, who yet again this season found themselves in numerous leading roles, as well as from Aleksandra Martinović, the head of the Multimedia Department of Telekom Srbija.
“We are extremely proud of the fact that in this year 2024, as well as in 2023, according to AGB Nielsen's data, Superstar was the most watched cable channel, and that it is ranked 5th according to the rating of all television stations in Serbia, including national broadcasters. This data is great considering that Superstar is available on about 60% of the market, and even though it is a cable channel according to its format, in Serbia it achieves results in the range of national broadcasters. This all further supports the fact that when it comes to film and serial content on television, Superstar is the first choice of the viewers. In the last 6 years, Telekom Srbija has been the initiator and driver of the creative and film industry in Serbia and the region and a constant presence in Serbian cinematography. This is supported by the fact that over two and a half thousand actors have played in our projects, and through new projects we have given a chance to some new faces and authors, which we will continue to do in the future”, said Aleksandra Martinović and added: “Together with our partners, the executive producers, we are pushing the boundaries in terms of creativity and technology and we are keeping pace with the global trends, which our users and viewers can appreciate. By the end of the year, we are also expecting the cinema premiere of a genre-wise revolutionary film produced by Telekom Srbija, Volja Sinovljeva (The Son’s Will), as well as the second part of the Kafana na Balkanu (The Tavern in the Balkans) trilogy , the film Stravično. And I would like to tell our loyal viewers that the best is yet to come”.
Martinović also presented the titles of the new series such as Krunska 11, which is already shown on the Superstar channel, then Ringišpil (The Carousel) based on the novel of the same name by Jelena Bačić Alimpić, which premieres this weekend. Until the end of the year, the viewers will have the opportunity to follow the series, which is the continuation of the cinema blockbuster Nedelja (Sunday). The very end of the year before the holiday season brings the highly anticipated sequel to Crna Svadba (The Black Wedding) and a new mysterious drama that will captivate viewers, Pasjača (Pasjača). Next year, the audience can expect great titles such as the Ožiljak (Scar) series, an ambitious co-production with Amazon Prime Video, the comedyBiće novih leta (There Will Be New Summers), the continuation of the series Kalup (Mold), which deals with important social issues, as well as the series called The Kidnapping, based on a true child-kidnapping story, and a teenage series Influenseri (The Influencers).
The Kidnapping series begins with a true event, but the remainder of the story is fiction. The characters are very well developed and I read the script very quickly, because the plot kept me reading. I enjoyed working on this project, with the people I collaborated with and was surrounded by, and I can say we shared the same energy, said Tamara Krcunović .
The actor Zlatan Vidović commented on the Crna svadba ( Black Wedding) series by saying that it had surpassed the first season and that he had exceptional partners, and when asked about his favourite characters Futa, whom he portrayed, and Marina, in the series and the film Nedelja (Sunday), he added: “The series will feature many scenes with the two of them that didn't make it into the movie. We shot interesting, real-life episodes and I believe the audience got attached to these two characters because they are the ones who reveal Džej’s character. It was wonderful to collaborate with my colleague Milica in the role of Marina Tucaković, and the audience recognized that”.
Mladen Sovilj talked about his experience shooting the Ožiljak (Scar) series in Spain and the very demanding role he played in the Kafana na Balkanu (The Tavern in the Balkans)trilogy. The young actress Nevena Nerandžić presented the characters she played in the series Krunska 11 and Ringišpil (The Carousel), and both emphasized that they had had to learn new skills apart from acting.
Over a hundred broadcast series over the last six years and their popularity made it possible for the Superstar channel to gain the title of the most watched film and television channel, while the numerous series of this television channel were broadcast before millions of viewers via applications Disney+, HBO MAX, Prime Video, DW from Germany, GloboPlay from Brazil, Somos Next and Flix Latino for the territory of the US and Puerto Rico, SBS Australia and many others.
The presentation of the new program was attended by numerous reputed actors such as Radovan Vujović, Igor Benčina, Anica Lazović, as well as the producers Maksa Ćatović, Sonja Mihajlov, Miloš Avramović and others whose unique talents and skills make them recognizable both in the country and abroad.
The support of the audience continues to motivate the Telekom Srbija company to keep creating various content in the years to come, with an intention to make quality film and series program available to all.
