After a Serbian family, settled in Denmark, kidnaps a child from mother’s arms in order to take it to another country and have it tested for DNA, the series focuses on the search for solution of the mystery. The plot in the heart of the story reveals the love of parents for their children. Ana comes from Serbia. She is lost in the new country where she lives with her parents Darko and Ljubica. She gets pregnant with Marcus, a local politician in whose house she used to work as a cleaning lady and whose power and social status intimidates her. Marcus didn’t know that Ana was pregnant. When he finds out about it, he suspects the child is his. He turns into a cold beast and decides to take the child. Ana is determined to keep the child at any cost. She faces a difficult decision- should she tell the truth, or deceive him in order to protect herself and the child from possible consequences. Ana’s decision to hide the real truth from child’s father forced her to commit an incredible act - to plant another baby for DNA testing in order to confirm that Marcus is not a biological father. Ana takes her parents on a journey in search for a similar baby which she would temporarily use for DNA testing and then safely return home. As the family gets involved into this risky venture Marcus is investigating the lies in search for truth, aware that she is hiding something. It’s a journey on the edge of morality that leads to unexpected twists, facing guilt and victims, rising the question how far are people willing to go to protect their secrets. After the police investigation revealed the family abduction, arrested all the family members and brought them before the court, Ana faces a potential prison sentence and loss of her real child unless she manages to convince the court that she is innocent, but that it’s quite impossible. While fighting for justice and her child, she meets a prosecutor who also had a similar experience. The prosecutor Victoria who took her child back from her husband in a similar way is now facing a paradox situation. She is leading a case against a mother charged for kidnapping and at the same time she sympathizes with her desperate situation. As the courtroom clash intensifies, Victoria faces her own mistakes and starts questioning her acts realizing how desperate and powerless the mother must have felt when she decided to kidnap someone to protect her own child. During the trial, the prosecutor fights her own moral dilemmas trying to save the mother from going to prison, which is completely against her professional duty. The journey through this case becomes a journey of self-awareness and setting things up, offering a chance to save one family and transform the other.
