The story timeline covers a period few days before the operation Storm until the end of it, including an epilogue that briefly depicts our heroes’ life on the run and the way they cope outside of Krajina. The plotline follows two dominant storylines. One follows the lives of Ilija and Jelena and their son Petar. Ilija is a divergent that was caught in the Storm while being on the front and he is desperately trying to escape the war terror and get back to his family. Ilija doesn’t know that his wife and son are in the refugee column and he can’t even guess where and when their persecution will end. While searching for them he is losing his friends and barely manages to save his own life. The second storyline follows a former legionary Dane, a perfect soldier and a killer who is getting back to his hometown after finding out that Ustasas killed his twin brother somewhere in Croatia. He gives his mother a promise that he will bring his brother’s body and burry it in the family tomb. While the Serbian troops are retreating and the Storm is devastating Krajina, Dane is making his way to Croatia, killing every enemy along the way in order to find his brother’s body and return it home. The family is a nucleus of the story and through its suffering, running away, sacrificing and struggle, the entire context and horror that the residents of Krajina had been through is displayed. The story abounds with episodes and images that are based om true events and confessions of refugees from Krajina. We are following the story from a perspective of a 12-year-old boy Petar, Ilija’s son, who after not having any news about his father, manages to save his family and take them to Belgrade on a tractor.
