After a Serbian family living in Denmark kidnaps a child from its mother’s arms in Belgrade to take it to another country and use it for DNA testing, the series follows the dynamic pursuit of unraveling the mystery.
Ana, a young woman of Serbian origin, lives in Denmark with her father, Darko. Her peaceful life turns into a nightmare when she discovers she is pregnant with Markus, a powerful businessman for whom she worked as a housekeeper. When Markus learns of Ana's pregnancy, he questions whether the child is his. Markus turns into a predator with a clear goal—to take the child if it proves to be his. Ana is determined to keep the baby at all costs, and her father, Darko, supports her. Faced with Markus's threats to take everything from them, Ana and Darko take a drastic and unpredictable step: they decide to substitute another baby for the DNA test to prove that Markus is not the biological father.
Ana and her father embark on a risky mission to find a baby to use as a “replacement” for the testing. The plan is simple—swap the babies, deceive the court, and hope they won’t be discovered. However, nothing is simple when it comes to justice. The child’s abduction is quickly uncovered, triggering an alarming police search. The investigation leads to drastic consequences, and the family faces the unraveling of a mystery that threatens to destroy everything.
When the police chase uncovers the family’s abduction and brings Darko and Ana before the court, Ana faces the potential loss of her real child if she fails to convince the court of her innocence. Inspector Kosta Ashanin, the police officer who prevented the kidnapping, becomes the city’s hero.
In her fight for justice and the return of her child, Ana finds unexpected support in prosecutor Viktorija, who has faced a similar experience. Viktorija, who once took her child from her ex-husband Kosta Ashanin through the court, now finds herself in a paradoxical situation—prosecuting a mother accused of kidnapping while empathizing with her plight. During the court battle, Viktorija confronts her own mistakes and deeply reevaluates her actions, realizing how desperate and powerless Ana must have been to resort to such extreme measures to protect her child.
As the courtroom drama unfolds, the relationship between Kosta and Viktorija grows increasingly complicated. Kosta is drawn back into Viktorija's life, attempting to change the past that shaped them both. Viktorija struggles with inner moral conflicts, trying to save Ana from a severe sentence, even though it goes against her professional duties.
The case of the “Abduction” becomes a challenging journey, revealing that many more people are entangled in this crime. Markus, who had seemed unshakable until now, is on the verge of losing everything—his power, his control, and the truth he crafted.
